Apologies for the last minute notice, but please read this short email and take immediate action on House Bill 116 in Cheyenne!
When Wyoming passed its Constitutional Carry law in 2011 — the work of WYGO members and our then-director Anthony Bouchard –- the legislature left out one key component.
You see, our Constitutional Carry law, as good as it is, only applies to in-state residents, while most of the other seventeen states that have passed this legislation extend its protections to all law abiding gun owners.
But not doing this here in Wyoming, well-intentioned gun owners could be arrested and prosecuted for an innocent mistake. And with the culture turning on gun owners so aggressively, it’s high time we fix this.
Rep. Bob Wharff, one of the most pro-gun lawmakers in the House, has filed H.B. 116 which would clean up our Constitutional Carry law and extend those freedoms to all law abiding gun owners.
H.B. 116 is coming up for a vote THIS MORNING AT 10:00AM in the House, and it’s urgent that your State Representative hear from you right away on this important bill!
Passing this legislation should be easy.
But as WYGO members know, nothing is easy in Cheyenne where our gun rights are concerned, as moderate legislators constantly try to weaken or flat out block pro-gun bills.
That’s why I hope you’ll send your PRE-WRITTEN EMAIL to your State Representative right away, making sure that he knows that passing H.B. 116 is a priority for you and that you are watching his actions closely.
If the bill passes the House, it will be headed to the Senate and I will need to ask for your help again. For today, email your State Representative and urge your friends and family to do the same thing!
Wyoming Gun Owners
P.S. In just two hours, the Wyoming House will vote on H.B. 116, legislation that extends the protections of our Constitutional Carry law to ALL law abiding gun owners, not just Wyomingites!
Most of the states that have Constitutional Carry law include all law abiding gun owners, otherwise, well-meaning gun owners from out of state could face criminal charges.
