HB 137 Clears the Legislature!

After a tumultuous few days in the House, HB 137 cleared the final legislative hurdle when it passed the House yesterday!

And I have to tell you, this was only due to your relentless pressure.

At so many points in the process over the last three days, anti-gun lobby organizations and moderates in the legislature came close to shutting this bill down.

But the grassroots pressure of WyGo members made all the difference as the politicians in Cheyenne knew that you were engaged and willing to hold them accountable for their vote.

Too often in the past, “What happens in Cheyenne stayed in Cheyenne.” Our rights suffered as a result, as the Senate killed gun bills for five years in a row.

Thank you for being a part of this grassroots army that refuses to back down and refuses to take “NO” for an answer!

But, of course, we’re not done yet, as now we need to make sure that Governor Mead signs this bill into law right away!

Please help us do that by contacting him right away. You can do so in the following ways:

>>> Calling his office at (307)777-7434.

>>> Sending him a message via Facebook.

Your message is very simple, and you can cut and paste the one below if you’d like.

     Dear Governor Mead,

Studies show that the overwhelming number of mass shootings occur in so-called “Gun Free Zones.”

While doing nothing to stop armed criminals bent on murder, these areas force me to disarm when going about my daily affairs and would leave me helpless in the event of a criminal attack.

Hundreds of Americans have died in these “Gun Free Zones” in the last few years as a result of these failed policies.

HB 137 was just passed by the legislature and it would lift the ban on carrying in many government buildings that are currently off-limits to gun owners here in Wyoming.

Please sign HB 137 into law right away, for the safety of all law abiding citizens in Wyoming!

     Signed: _____________________

When you’re done, please make sure you forward this email to as many of your friends and family as possible, and encourage them to get involved as well.

We’ve cleared major hurdles this session to get to this point.

But I’ve been informed that the Wyoming Association of Municipalities, an Affiliate of the National League of Cities — two of the most aggressive anti-gun lobbies in any state legislature — are working overtime to have Gov. Mead kill this bill.

That’s why we need to keep the pressure up until the very end!

Please contact Gov. Mead right away!

And please also help WyGo keep the pressure up by making a donation of $100, $50, or even just $25 right away.

As an all-volunteer run organization, you can trust that every penny of your donations will go right to the Second Amendment fight here in Wyoming!

But we need your help to maintain this fight. Please do whatever you can to help us right away
.

We’ve made it this far this session thanks to your efforts. The session is winding down this week, but we have to see this through by making sure Gov. Mead signs it into law!

For Freedom,

David Ball
President

P.S. Late yesterday, the House cast their final vote on HB 137 meaning that our legislation to roll back “Gun Free Zones” on government buildings has cleared the legislature!

Now it’s up to Gov. Mead to decide what he’ll do with this bill.

But the Wyoming Association of Municipalities and other well-funded anti-gun lobby groups are working overtime behind the scenes to make sure Gov. Mead kills this bill!

Please contact him right away, using the information above, and insist that he sign HB 137 into law right away!
