Moments ago, the gavel fell on the start of the 2019 legislative session in Cheyenne!

And while this is the ‘long session,’ lawmakers anticipate adjourning the session in less than two months — meaning we have to act fast!

That’s why WYGO has prepared two action items for you below, that we hope you’ll take advantage of immediately. More on that in a moment.

Gun owners in Wyoming must maintain both an offensive and defensive posture this year, as we work to remove ‘Gun Free Zones’ from public/government buildings while also working to ensure the defeat of any ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation.

‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation would allow you to have your guns confiscated by the government before you’ve ever been convicted in court — of anything!

This bill will be moving in state capitols around the country this year, as it has already been filed in Washington D.C. by Republican Senator Marco Rubio!

Clearly party labels mean less and less these days, so we can’t assume that everything will be fine in Cheyenne simply because the GOP is in charge.

That’s why I hope you’ll take a moment and send in these two pre-written emails to your lawmakers right away, so they know, on day one, what you expect them to do for gun owners in 2019!

First, tell your lawmakers to oppose any attempt to pass ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation — regardless of who sponsors the bill.

Second, tell your lawmakers that you want them to cosponsor the legislation being filed by Senator Bouchard and Representative Salazar to end ‘Gun Free Zones’ in Wyoming!

Please note that you can also share those links with your family and friends who care about the Second Amendment, and urge them to send in their emails, too.

They don’t have to know who their lawmakers are, what their email address is, or anything. If they simply type in their home address and hit send, the system will do the rest.
