WYGO’s legislation to repeal deadly ‘Gun Free Zones’ passed the House 54-7 and the Senate 22-8! But Mark Gordon vetoed the bill as a favor to the Wy Association of Municipalities, Wy Education Association, and Everytown for Gun Safety!
In doing so, Gordon broke the written campaign promise he gave gun owners in 2018.
Thankfully Article 3, Section 7(i) of the Wyoming Constitution allows the legislature to convene a special session of the legislature where they can override the Governor’s veto. All it requires is a simple majority of the House (32 of 62 votes) and Senate (16 of 31 votes!)
The calls for a special session have already started…but you need to make your voice heard.
If we override the veto of HB-125 then Wyoming will repeal deadly ‘Gun Free Zones’ in places like the state capitol, the University of Wyoming, our school, and other government buildings!
If we don’t override this veto, law abiding Wyomingites will continue to be sitting ducks in these locations, unable to defend themselves against an armed predator, bent on murder.
But to get this done, we need a majority vote in the House and Senate.
Please send your PRE-WRITTEN EMAIL to your State Representative and State Senator, urging them to publicly support a special session to override the veto on HB-125!
