If you listen hard enough, you can hear Michael Bloomberg laughing from his NYC war-room all the way out here in Wyoming.
That’s because the US Senate Judiciary Committee just gave Bloomberg and Dianne Feinstein exactly what they wanted -– a public hearing on S.7, the ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation that we have been warning you about!
The truth is, the fight over ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation is more of a threat than ever before, now that Republican leaders have conceded and given this bill a hearing.
And based on the troubling lack of any statement from either Senator Enzi and Senator Barrasso about this bill, it’s clear that they need to hear from gun owners here in Wyoming IMMEDIATELY!
That’s why I hope you’ll immediately sign the petition that we’ve prepared for you, telling both of your Senators to stop playing games with our gun rights.
No gun owner wants a criminally deranged person walking around carrying a gun. But there is already a process in place to deal with people like that.
Just consider the facts.
Under current law, those who tell others of their intent to kill can ALREADY be arrested for making threats if members of law enforcement are informed.
Those who are exhibiting “warning signs” that they may be planning violence can — at minimum — be interviewed by law enforcement who can move to arrest the person if needed.
As anyone in law enforcement will tell you, you can tell A LOT about a person’s intentions with the answers to just a couple questions.
But they’ll also tell you that no gun control law on the books will ever do a lick of good if law enforcement fails to do its job — like we saw at Parkland, Florida a year ago.
Gun-grabbers know all of this, but they don’t care.
They are hoping to use the support of Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham as their vehicle for moving this bill forward. It’s a smart move on their part.
Afterall, Senator Graham has received hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations from Michael Bloomberg — something that he is quite proud of!
If enacted, ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation would allow virtually anyone to make a claim that you are a danger to yourself or someone else and ask a judge to order you stripped of your firearms.
The amount of room for abuse in this process should have every gun owner in Wyoming alarmed. Consider the following:
>>> These gun seizure orders will be issued before you have
been charged, much less convicted, with anything!
>>> The hearings that determine whether or not to strip you of
your firearms happen in secret!
>>> The mere fact that you recently purchased a firearm or any
Every gun owner in the state knows someone who has gone through a bad divorce; maybe you’ve gone through that misery yourself.
Can you imagine what an embittered ex-spouse could do to you if the country enacts this legislation? How about a neighbor who doesn’t like your pro-gun bumper sticker? The risk to gun owners is ENDLESS!
Now ordinarily, gun control bills like these are introduced by the hard-left Senators that you would expect: Dianne Feinstein, Charles Schumer, and Bernie Sanders.
And normally, in a Republican controlled US Senate, you and I could safely ignore these threats, as they are destined to go nowhere due to the partisan makeup of the Senate.
Sadly, that’s not the case this time.
You see, S. 7 was filed by Marco Rubio, a Republican Senator from Florida. More than that, the bill already has Republican cosponsors. And perhaps worst of all, the bill has the approval of the National Rifle Association itself!
In a recent video released by Chris Cox, the NRA said that they are in full support of ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation provided that they do away with the ex-parte provision.
In other words, as long as you are able to stand in court and face your accusers, they are in agreement with this legislation!
And while that’s a small step in the right direction, the biggest threat facing gun owners through these ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ is the fact that you could lose your gun rights before you’ve been ARRESTED, CHARGED, OR CONVICTED OF A CRIME!
With the NRA backing it, I’m more concerned than ever that Senator Enzi and Senator Barrasso may go along with it, which would explain why neither has come out in opposition to this bill.
Simply put: both of our Senators seem primed to back this legislation, and that is why I hope you will immediately sign your petition, insisting that they change their mind!
So please sign your petition NOW!
But when you do, please consider what’s at stake.
If Senators like Enzi and Barrasso can get away with supporting this legislation, it will send a LOUD message to the
entire Republican conference in Washington D.C. that this legislation is ‘OK.’
On the other hand, if they take a strong stance against this legislation, that may be our best chance of stopping this bill dead in its tracks!
And that’s why I hope you’ll consider a generous donation to help Wyoming Gun Owners activate as many gun owners as we possibly can before this bill comes up for an actual vote.
We are looking at radio ads, Facebook ads, direct mail to tens of thousands of gun owners and more. We know that we need to do this, but it’s also going to be very expensive.
Whatever you can afford will be greatly appreciated and put to immediate use — trying to flood Senator Enzi’s and Senator Barrasso’s offices with calls and emails from gun owners!
If ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ get passed in the US Senate, we all know that Nancy Pelosi will run it through the House of Representatives the very next day.
This fight will be won or lost in the Senate, so that’s where gun owners need to make their stand.
