We’re Close to Passing SAPA in Wyoming

Sun, Mar 1, 2026

The fight to pass the Second Amendment Preservation Act here in Wyoming has been intense.

Over the past week alone, Wyoming Gun Owners members have sent thousands of emails to lawmakers, helping push SAPA through some of the toughest legislative fights of the entire session.

First, SAPA passed the Wyoming Senate after a brutal floor fight against anti-gun moderates and law enforcement lobbyists.

Then the House version of the bill was gutted in a Senate committee, forcing gun owners to shift the fight to the Senate version of the legislation.

And late last week, SF-101 passed the House Appropriations Committee on a strong 6-1 vote, keeping the strongest version of SAPA alive as it heads toward a vote in the full House.

Those victories did not happen by accident.

They happened because WYGO members stepped up and applied pressure and because pro-gun lawmakers here in Cheyenne held the line.

But the most important stage of this fight is still ahead.

The Governor and anti-gun lobbyists are working behind the scenes to weaken SAPA before the final vote in the House. They know this bill plugs the gaps in our SAPA law.

That’s exactly why they are fighting so hard to kill it.

WYGO is working around the clock inside the Capitol to defend this legislation and expose the pressure campaign being run by the anti-gun lobby.

But that work only continues because gun owners like you help fund it.

Please consider making an urgent donation of $10, $25, $50, or even $100 to help Wyoming Gun Owners continue fighting for the strongest possible version of SAPA.

Your support funds the emails, text alerts, digital outreach, and legislative pressure campaigns that allow us to mobilize gun owners across the state when these fights erupt in Cheyenne.

SAPA is closer than ever to becoming law.

Now we need to finish the job.

P.S. SF-101 has already passed the Wyoming Senate and cleared the House Appropriations Committee with a 6-1 vote. The next step is a vote in the full House.
